Beard Transplant

A beard transplant uses a patient’s own donor follicles to increase facial-hair density, restore sparse or absent growth, improve symmetry or reshape areas of the beard, moustache, goatee, sideburns and jawline.

Beard design comes first

A beard transplant should not simply fill every available space. The design considers cheek line, moustache, goatee, sideburns, jawline and the natural transitions between these areas.

Density changes naturally across the beard, so graft distribution is planned to recreate that variation rather than producing a uniform block of hair.

Angle and direction are critical

Facial hair emerges at very acute angles to the skin. Small changes in direction can make the difference between hair that lies naturally against the face and hair that visibly points away from it.

Recipient sites are therefore created with close control over angle, direction and spacing so the transplanted hair follows the natural flow of the beard.

Graft selection and refinement

Donor grafts are carefully sorted and, when needed, refined under magnification so the most suitable follicular units can be used in different parts of the beard.

Single-hair grafts are ideal for softer borders and transitions. Stronger multi-hair follicular units can be placed deeper within the beard to build density and structure.

Restoring more than density

Beard transplantation can also restore facial hair affected by scarring, trauma, previous surgery or naturally limited growth, allowing both shape and density to be rebuilt.

Specialist facial-hair expertise

Our beard procedures are matched with doctors experienced in non-scalp transplantation and the specific aesthetic and technical demands of facial-hair restoration.

What happens next

During consultation, the proposed beard shape, existing facial growth, donor hair and required density are assessed before the final design and graft strategy are agreed.
